Based in Merfy, a historic village just fifteen minutes from Reims, Alex works a remarkable patchwork of chalk, clay, sandstone, limestone and sandy soils — geological complexity worlds apart from the more homogeneous Côte des Blancs.
Since taking over the family domaine in 2006, Alex has approached farming and winemaking as a continuous process of observation and refinement. His wines combine tension, salinity and mineral depth with remarkable energy and finesse.
